FROM ASIAN- TO AMERICAN HORROR

Asian horror is not very popular in America. These Asian movies, which are probably a little bit to strange for the mainstream public, do not do well at the box-office. This is why Hollywood studios buy these movies and make remakes out of them with a more familiar formula.

I have never seen a real original Asian horror movie but I can understand that not everybody understands them. The bad thing is that Hollywood has the tendency to cut of the sharp edges of movies and, because of this, the movies become less interesting and, in case of a horror movie, less shocking!!

Here is a short list of Asian horror remakes to look out for.: Dark Water, The Entity, the Eye and Chaos.
